And just like that, the storm is over. My main problem with the rain is that it always feels so constricting. I can't go out, I can't go for a run, I can't be spontaneous and just...fly. But there's something to be said about the moments after the rain has fallen. While the storm might be over, the debris, the puddles, the mess of it all is still quite evident...but there's the constant feeling of hope. Suddenly the leaves strewn about and the fallen trees or power lines seem...fixable. Even the biggest of storms must eventually end, and then it's just a new day. A new chance to make things right. A new chance to rebuild that which has fallen and strengthen it all.

And so you go outside and you explore the aftermath. You feel alive, you feel grateful, you feel hopeful. And, if you’re like me, and happen to have ridiculously long eyelashes, you look at the sun and see a trillion reflections on the tip of each eyelash…and it’s hopeful.
