HBO just announced that will renew the new series ‘Rome’ into season 2. As Alicson has said, I’m a big dork. Especially when it comes to politics and history…lo and behold, HBO satisfies both with the great great story of Caesar and his rise to power.
The set design is incredible, the acting seems pretty solid, and I like the characters so far. And there’s politics! And scheming! And battle!
I’ve been able to catch the first three episodes so far and I really recommend it to anyone interested in the time period, the personalities and what not. It seems that a lot of people are bothered by the British accent, but I don’t think a Boston accent would’ve added to the mystique of the times.

As heard on NPR, the prisoners in this prison over in Manitoba, Canada may no longer drink their tea. Poor poor convicted prisoners. The prison banned smoking, so the prisoners were apparently using the tea leaves to smoke. What did they use to wrap the leaves?
