Ah, the New TV season has started off with Prison Break on Fox and Rome on HBO. Since Ali and I are the cutest, dorkiest, and gushiest couple ever, we watch like EVERY show together so we can talk about them afterwards.
We’ve actually been doing this since freshman year of college but since I’m over in the land of Mao right now we’ll have to adapt. I’ll be downloading thanks to the torrents. I’m compiling the list right now and I’m a bit startled by the sheer amount of television that we’ll be watching on a weekly basis…
So here goes:
Alias
24
The CSI’s
Smallville
Prison Break
Rome
Veronica Mars (once I get Ali to watch season 1)
Desperate Housewives (Ali makes me watch it)
Lost
Scrubs
Grey’s Anatomy (All right, I made Ali watch this one)
New Shows to try out:
E-Ring
Commander in Chief
Supernatural
Invasion
Just Legal
My Name is Earl
***
Regarding the shows, though:
Alias could be really good. Big changes taking place this upcoming season, but potentially so many ways for it to suck. Jennifer Garner’s upcoming pregnancy is going to be integrated into the story and that’s never gone well, so I’m prepared to be dissapointed.
24 doesn’t start till Jan, right?
CSI’s…I dunno what it is about them, but I can’t stop watching!
Smallville…Such a potentially great show. Please show more Lex development and context! Please give Clark a personality!
Prison Break – Totally Alicson’s show. The thought of Jail scares me so the show terrifies me. But I suck it up so I can talk about the show with Ali.
Rome – Wow, a show about Ceasar and his rise to power. Could it really get any better? I think not. I’m pretty sure HBO had me in mind. First two episodes have been awesome.
Veronica Mars – What a well written show. I bought the first season DVD after hearing such strong reviews and I was really impressed by the acting, writing and story-line. The first season ended with the proverbial (and literal) bang, and I’m really excited about seeing what happens this upcoming season.
Desperate Housewives – I cannot, cannot, cannot, stand Terri Hatcher’s character. But the show’s really kinda interesting and I want to see how all the characters grow. Ali likes it (and so do I) mainly because the show is a story about how relationships fall apart without open communication and any sort of real trust…and I have a crush on the red head and Eva. :)
Lost – I dunno. I spent a whole season hoping for answers to any number of questions and never got them. We’ll see what happens now.
Scrubs – Need to catch up with seasons 3 and 4. I like it though.
Grey’s Anatomy – While many disagree, I think it’s a well written show and I really really like Sandra Oh and Patrick Demsey. Both good actors doing a great job with this show. While the first and last episode kinda blew, I hope that the writers get their act together and keep it going strong. Also a show with a great soundtrack.
And with all this TV watching, there’s no way at all that I’ll get any Chinese or LSAT studying done. Awesome (seriously, I’d much rather watch TV)

Comments (2):
well, i may as well spend the other half replying.
I think i may have to buy a new external harddrive to hold on to a bunch of shows while i don’t watch them on time. there’s so much to get done! the shows will be there! i’m trying to convince myself!
I’m not sure about all those new shows, but you left out Boston Legal on the old shows (I hope they change the introduction song). I haven’t heard about most of those new ones, but E-Ring will probably be good. I’m not sure about Earl, but maybe.
Alias is fun to watch. good or not.
Last season’s 24 is the only one i’ve really seen, and yes you are all right: it’s quite good.
My parents love CSI, and also NCIS, so that’s a likelihood.
Smallville is genius in concept. Lex’s character makes up as much as possible for the rest of them. Did they change writers? maybe? hopefully? :-/
Prison Break is good. yes it’s a lot of uncomfortableness, but that’s fair.. and i very much like the foresight, planning, and connections and dependencies.
Rome is somehow more lewd than Deadwood is! You just like it cuz of all the naked women and the lots and lots of very loud sex! Hm. Actually, from you, it’s actually believable that you could be more interested in the politics and empire building than in the naked women. You’re special like that.
we’ll see about Veronica Mars. Did Joan of Arcadia get cancelled? i only got about 3 scattered episodes into that.
What about Gilmore Girls?
Desperate Housewives is an interesting show. I’m amused that you have a crush particularly on the obsessive compulsive neat freak. i wonder what it implies for what you’re expecting of your future wife.
Lost has soooo many questions to answer. But so did Dark Angel and that answered nothing while being unreasonably addictive.
Scrubs is happy.
The first episode (actually it was the third one) I saw of Grey’s Anatomy was rather lame. Thanks for making me go back and watch it though.. it’s actually a very good show. Fun and interesting and moving.
You forgot about Naruto. Naruto with its 5,899,217 episodes. I can’t believe you have me watching a Japanese anime. Relationships demand so much sacrifice!
we don’t have time for all these shows! if i’m magical enough, i’ll save about half of them off and watch them in the off-sesason over next summer. :-/ it could happen.
